The Procession Tribal Painting on Tassar Silk

The elephant wasn’t a mammoth, it was a petable and friendly assistant. This portrait depicts a kingly sawari on an elephant, while other aspects of village life and the economy are also on display. A true collage that unites hierarchy and social constructs.

Painted on Talapatra, this piece is all about movement and life. A decorated elephant, the king’s voyage, and other layers of village life in one frame make the portrait auspicious. It’s a fragment of history, especially rustic history. Right for urban home decor, this one also fits in as office decor.
